What can you use to remove scars?

I have very bad recent scars on my knees.What can you use to remove scars?
Rub them with coaco butter, a couple of times a day for a year or so. Time will help some too.What can you use to remove scars?
My son has scarring on his face from a dog bite and has been to see a very reputable plastic surgeon, we ask him about products like Mederma and he said that they do not work at all. None of these type of products. No more than rubbing regular lotion on them everyday would. Time or surgery are the best results.
A knife would work, but you'll prbably have a bigger scar.

Rub in a little Olive Oil every day.
