Is it true that Smallpox causes scars only where the material is injected or scratched into the body?

Nope. If you catch the disease, you get pock marks all over. Not that you can catch the disease any more. It's extinct in the wild, thank God.

YES





The rash starts as flat red sores, which fill with pus, crust over, and finally develop scabs, which fall off around week 3.


There is no proved treatment for smallpox, and the majority of smallpox sufferers do recover. But are often left with rash scars.
